美国高中学生都是有哪些假期？

在同学们拿到offer即将就读美国高中之前，学校一般都会给学生发来这样的一份calendar(校历)，有了这样的schedule(时间表)，同学们便可以提前规划自己的赴美行程了。校历的作用分为两个方面：①让学生知悉准确的赴美日期②将美国一年大大小小的节假日全部罗列出来，便于学生规划自己的假日安排。我们以下图这所学校的假期为例，一起来看看美国的假期都是有哪些吧。

1. Labor Day – On the first Monday in September, this holiday honors workers in the United States.

劳动节：九月的第一个星期一。

2. Veterans Day – Veterans Day is November 11, when people honour those who have served or are serving in the armed forces.

老兵节：大家没有想到吧~就是咱们的双十一节!

3. Thanksgiving Day – This celebration of the harvest occurs in late November (typically the last Thursday of the month). Families gather and have a festive meal, usually with turkey and pumpkin pie. This is a good time to share what you are thankful for with friends and family.

感恩节：十一月末(通常是十一月的最后一个周四)。

这个时间的气温不算太冷，同学们可以安排一个周边游，到风景迷人的地方去走一走，开阔自己的眼界，体验旅行的舒心，也能在紧张学习的压力中得到一个很好的放松，一般这个时候，寄宿家庭的父母可能会有出行计划，而同学们可以和美国寄宿家庭父母一起领略美国自然风光，体验美国当地风土人情，还可以吃到火鸡和南瓜派哦。

4. Christmas Day –December 25. This holiday marks the birth of Christ and is a time for family gatherings and gift-giving.

圣诞节：十二月二十五日，类似于中国的新年。

5. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday – This is celebrated on the third Monday in January. This holiday honors Martin Luther King Jr., the man who led the struggle for equality and civil rights on behalf of African-Americans in the 1960s.

马丁·路德·金纪念日：一月的第三个周一。

6. President’s Day – This is celebrated on the third Monday in February and honors presidents of the United States.

总统日：二月份的第三个周一。

7. Good Friday/Easter Day – This religious holiday celebrates Jesus Christ’s death on the cross to save the world from sin and his resurrection from the dead. Easter Sunday occurs in March or April.

复活节：三月或者四月。

8. Memorial Day – This holiday, celebrated on the last Monday in May, honors the soldiers who died in all American Wars.

美国阵亡将士纪念日：五月的最后一个周一。
